Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, deliver, and track EHS training programs for all employees.
• Investigate all EHS incidents, determine root causes, and recommend preventative measures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hazard communication).
• Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation.
• Support emergency response planning and participate in drills.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of progressive EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local EHS regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident investigations.
• Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage employees and foster a positive safety culture.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour General Industry, HAZWOPER, ASP/CSP, CHMM) are highly desirable.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
• Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or similar process improvement experience.
• HAZWOPER certification or specialized training in industrial hygiene.
